Lindsey Wilkins is a 13 year old girl who was originally diagnosed at age 11 with Ewings Sarcoma in the middle of her left femur. After limb salvage surgery in October 2006, the doctors told her that she didn't have Ewings but instead had small cell Osteosarcoma. After an additional 16 times of chemo (21 total) the cancer was gone. One year later ( to the day from her last chemo)she had a recurrence. Her surgeon removed a small tumor near the first site. Her mom and dad had taken her to MD Anderson in Houston and she was started on a regimen of Gemcetibine/Doctaxel/Avastin. After 3 months, she still had two spots in her right lung so she had a thorocotomy. Lindsey and her parents traveled to Sloan Kettering for a month to get L-MTP-PE and have since returned home where she receives the same treatment at Childrens Hospital along with some HD MTX every 3-4 weeks.
