So, as most of you already know, Chris passed away yesterday (5/26/2009). He was surrounded by his loved ones and he went very peacefully. Chris would want me to thank all of you for the love and support that you gave us over this past year and a half. He loved you all so much and loved hearing from you every day. Chris is in heaven now where the cancer cannot hurt him anymore. He is finally getting the answers he so longed for on this earth. I also want to thank you for every prayer. Please continue to pray. Chris was a very prayful person and he would want everyone to maintain that close relationship with the Lord. Before he passed yesterday he said that he wishes he could have done more for the Lord. Please honor Chris by growing closer to our Lord and Savior and help others to know Christ's love.

Chris is 25 years old and lives in Bristol, CT. He and his wife Beth were married in Chris' hometown of Orlando, FL on June 3, 2006. Both Chris and Beth are proud graduates of Florida State University.

Chris is a Video Editor at ESPN. He started at ESPN in February 2006. Prior to coming to ESPN, Chris worked at Seminole Productions after graduating from FSU in May 2005. Seminole Productions is a video production company that is part of the University.

At ESPN, he edits video for all the networks shows such as Sports Center, ESPN News, NASCAR Now, and Baseball Tonight.

Chris began his battle with Burkitt's lymphoma in January of 2008. Burkitt's is a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Beginning in February 2008, he underwent chemo treatments for the cancer. His chemo regimen consisted of eight weeklong treatments. The treatments were 3-4 weeks apart. He has been unable to work since February 2008.

In October 2008, it was determined that Chris would need a bone marrow transplant to eradicate the cancer. Fortunately, his sister Anna, age 23, is a match. The transplant process is scheduled to begin on 12/11/08 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. Chris is expected to be in the hospital for 2-3 months.

The last several weeks of Chris' stay will be at the Cam Neely House located on the hospital's campus. The Cam Neely House is a housing facility for families and patients that do not live in the Boston area. Boston Bruin Cam Neely started the facility after both his parents became victims of cancer.

Chris and Beth's journey over the past year has had many twists and turns, tears along with laughter, and both victories and defeats. Through it all, they have maintained a Hope that is based in Christ Jesus and a Faith that God will surround them and comfort them.

The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and church has been indescribable. Hundreds of people have reached out to share their burden and to help in numerous ways. It continues to lift their spirits and cause them to praise God for His blessings.

The JP Foundation is among the friends that have supported Chris and Beth.
